The house, built in the Constructivist style, was constructed in 1932 in Hradec Králové on Havlíčkova Street in the land block marked as „F.“ The project for the fully basemented six-story building, intended as a „commercial and residential building,“ was prepared by the builder Mr. Josef Vyleťal in March 1932. The builders submitted a request for a building permit to the municipal office in Hradec Králové on April 20, 1932, based on the completed documentation. The permit was issued less than 30 days later, on May 13, 1932 (today, this process would take approximately 10-20 times longer).

Construction began with Mr. Josef Vyleťal on May 2, 1932, and was completed by December 15 of the same year. A health expert verified on December 20, 1932, that „the building is dry and safe for habitation.“ Therefore, the occupancy commission on January 3, 1933, recommended that the applicant could begin using the building after paying a construction fee of 200 CZK to the municipal pension fund.

The basement areas, in 1932 only under the multi-story section of the building, contained storage rooms and refrigerators for meat products and semi-finished goods. On the ground floor, just as today, there was a shop (now a clothing store and travel agency) and a passageway. The hygiene regulations and practices of the time allowed for the storage of hung carcasses of slaughtered cattle in a lockable passage from the street into the courtyard (see photos). The other floors, from the second to the partially inhabited fifth floor, housed accommodation for the owner and working staff.

The first major construction modification took place in 1935 when the second floor was converted into kitchens and a dining room, supplementing the already functioning meat production operating on the ground floor with facilities in the basement (the documentation was prepared on December 5, 1934). This modification was carried out under the supervision of master mason Mr. Josef Novák.

At the beginning of 1940, the builder applied for permission to „raise the rear building and create cellars and a shed“ in the courtyard area. Although these were somewhat depicted in the original documentation by the builder Jos. Vyleťal, financial constraints prevented their implementation in 1932.

The gallery and attractions sections, we offer an insight into the historically and currently photographed development of the house. Due to the privacy of the residents, more detailed architectural documentation is not part of the gallery.

You can view the progress of some changes on the attractions page.
